The goal of the YLC is to develop a grassroots movement led by immigrant and non-immigrant youth through programs developing leadership, advocacy and organizing skills to facilitate and foster a sustainable youth movement.
Members of the council collected and mailed over 1,000 holiday cards to Senators Schumer and Clinton, they’ve conducted college preparation workshops for immigrant students in high schools, met with elected officials, spoken with main stream and ethnic press, organized rallies, petition drives, and participated in national strategy sessions.
